"It is two years today. I get emotional looking at the journey. It was a big challenge when I took up the responsibility. Through my work, I replied to those who were mocking me. I never made a statement or defended myself," Parsekar told PTI.
"I am feeling satisfied today. In the last two years, we have achieved so many things. We have won the confidence of people," he said.
"When I took over, the state economy was at its lowest ebb. Despite it, we fast-paced the social and educational schemes. New ones were introduced. We never let people feel the brunt of downsizing economy," he said.
Parskear said Goa hasreached a milestone in the infrastructure sector by implementing various projects.
"We have given qualitative infrastructure. The investment promotion board was formed two years ago. We have achieved the targets set before the board. Now employment would be generated through investments approved by the board," he added.
"The new airport will not just generate employment but will also add to the coffers of the state. We will get 36.89 per cent of the total revenue. This is the best offer we could get. The company with which we have signed an agreement has vast experience and repute in this field," the CM said.
Parsekar, whose constituency is bordering the new airport project, said it will also add to the tourism industry in the state.
Also, the Defence Ministry has placed orders worth Rs 33,000 crore with Vasco-based Goa Shipyard Limited which will also add to the revenue of the state and generate employment.
