The girl's body bearing multiple knife marks was found laying in a pool of blood in the laboratory, with her hands tied behind her back, police said.
The incident came to notice after victim's family members contacted her supervisor when the girl did not reach home till late in the night.
A notebook carrying victim's sketch was also found in the laboratory besides an empty bottle of chloroform, police said, adding initial investigations hint towards a failed love affair.
Police have also recovered a vehicle from the Cantonment area of the city, in which they found a contact number which turned out to be that of the girl's father who lives in Delhi, they said.
