Residents protest against 3-day power outage

Hundreds of irate residents of Udal Nagar today staged a protest at the Patel Nagar electricity sub-station here after being subjected to a power outage for more than three days.
The protesters raised slogans against the alleged apathy of electricity department officials and claimed that it was the second time in a month when the transformer installed in their colony had malfunctioned, leading to a disruption in the power supply.
Repeated complaints with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd officials in this regard have gone unattended, they charged.
The protesters were placated by Superintending Engineer SP Yadav, who assured them that power would be restored within 12 hours.
