Patwari Khushiram Navrang (55), posted at village Khisora under Magalroad Tehsil, was caught red handed while accepting bribe from the complainant Rajendra Kumar Dewangan for providing some documents related to his ancestral property, an ACB official told PTI.
Dewangan, a resident of Dhaurabhata village had approached Navrang few days back seeking some documents related to his ancestral property which was registered on his mother's name.
Dewangan was willing to transfer the ownership of the property on his name, the official said.
Later, the complaint was verified and the accused had agreed to accept bribe at his residence-cum-office in Khisora following which the trap was laid there, he said.
A case under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him, the official added.
