Six people have been booked in Thane for allegedly kidnapping and beating up a rickshaw driver, police said Sunday.
"Driver Babasaheb Kamble (34) has alleged that he was kidnapped late Saturday night by rickshaw union leader Ravi Malekar, his brother Datta Malekar and others. They took him to Shelar Naka and assaulted him," sub-inspector Mohan Kalamkar of Dombivali police station said.
He said the dispute seemed to have started over parking of rickshaws.
A kidnapping and assault case has been registered but no arrests have been made so far, Kalamkar added.
