Filmmaker Ridley Scott is in talks to helm the movie adaptation of popular 1960s TV show "The Prisoner".
The 78-year-old "Martian" director is in early negotiations, reported Deadline.
The Patrick McGoohan series revolved around prisoner Number Six, a former government agent trapped in an isolated and eerie village.
The casting of the film is already in the pipeline at Universal Studios.
Drafts for the film's screenplay have previously been worked on by Edge of Tomorrow's Christopher McQuarrie and The Departed's William Monahan.
