The 51-year-old actor was joined by his good friend Gwyneth Paltrow as he received a star on December 9, reported Female First.
The 51-year-old actor, who is married to make-up artist Sheryl Berkoff, was honoured at a ceremony also attended by his "Grinder" co-star Fred Savage, 39.
Paltrow, 43, said, "I met Rob Lowe when I was 17 years old. I was in Los Angeles and trying to start becoming an actress and Sheryl and Rob took me under their wing.
"They were always so loving and familial towards me and I knew that I always had a safe place here when I came to Hollywood."
He added that he was humbled and grateful for his success in acting.
"It's so extraordinary to me that these characters have been embraced for four decades. To those who have enjoyed my work, this star is an emblem of our long journey together. Without your support, none of it would have been a possibility".
