Director Ron Howard has opened up about the low box office numbers of his latest film "Solo: A Star Wars Story".
The 64-year-old director, who came aboard the project after the exit of Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, said he feels "badly" for the people who did not watch the film on the big screen.
"I'm proud of 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' and the cast and crew worked hard to give fans a fun new addition," Howard wrote on Twitter.
"As a director I feel badly when people who I believe (and exit polls show) will very likely enjoy a movie... don't see it on a big screen with great sound," he added.
The "Inferno" director was responding to a tweet by a fan who attributed the low numbers to Rian Johnson-directed "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", that had miffed many die-hard franchise fans with its storyline.
The performance of Howard's "Solo" at the box office has been underwhelming ever since its debut and according to many reports, the film might also become the lowest grosser in the franchise.
