Royal baby's nickname is "Georgie"

The nickname of the royal baby is "Georgie" and he is "very loud" but "wonderful", Prince Charles, the grandfather of the newborn heir to the throne, has said.
Still riding high from the excitement of the royal family's new addition, the Prince of Wales told well-wishers yesterday that he is "pleased as punch" with his "wonderful" first grandchild.
Speaking to visitors at the Whitstable Oyster Festival in Kent, the first in line to the throne was quoted by The Mirror as saying: "He'll be known as Georgie in no time."
And he gave the baby prince's name, the same moniker as his own grandfather King George VI, his royal seal of approval, telling a guest: "George - a very good name."

Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were showered with gifts for Prince George, whose parents marked a week since the future king's birth privately at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, today.
The baby presents included a tiny lemon T-shirt and a toy red Welsh dragon in recognition of the family connections to the country.

Beaming Charles, who was one of the first to meet Prince George, also disclosed the new royal is "very loud", but "wonderful" while chatting to fellow guests.
His pride was plain to see when Charles mixed with older guests at the festival, telling a guest, "Ah, here we go. Is this the granny section? Well I suppose this is where I should stand now."

Despite his new 'grandfather' title, Charles, 64, proved he is showing no signs of slowing down, picking up drum sticks from the Samba Pelo Mar band and having a go at banging out a rhythm on their tin drum kit.
George, third in line to the British throne, was first seen by the the world when last Tuesday Prince William and Kate Middleton left the Lindo wing at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington a day after his birth.
However, great-grandfather Prince Philip has still not met the new addition and is not expected to for up to three months.
