NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Friday that an appeal for helping flood-affected people in Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts of Western Maharashtra raised Rs 1 crore in Baramati, his hometown, within few hours.

He had made the appeal at a meeting at the Agriculture Produce Market Committee in the morning and within hours, individuals as well as local organizations donated money, raising Rs 1 crore, he tweeted.

NCP sources said that Pawar would be visiting Sangli and Satara districts on Saturday, accompanied by party leader Dhananjay Munde.
