Out of Rs 17.55 crore seized by the flying squad, static surveillance team and other agencies, the income tax authorities have seized Rs 1.34 crore while Rs 11.62 crore has been released by the committees constituted at district level, a release, issued by the office of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), said.
Meanwhile, the authorities today seized Rs. 4.89 lakh from different districts during vehicle checking. The police and IT officials are investigating the seizure, the release said.
The authorities have, till date, lodged 957 cases of Defacement of Public Property and 166 cases of Defacement of Private Property during the course of enforcement of model code of conduct, it said.
They have seized 939 number of arms/weapons, 995 explosives, 165 bombs and 3549 cartridges. A total 35 illegal arms manufacturing centres were raided and seized by the officials.
A total of 2,15,916 persons were detained under preventive section of Cr.PC while 69,542 number of non-bailable warrants have been executed, the release said and added that Rs 8.32 crore was collected as fine imposed during vehicle checking so far.
