Rs 6 lakh announced to families of road mishap victims

: Tamil Nadu government today announced a total relief of Rs six lakh to the families of victims of a road mishap at Virudhunagar last month.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa condoled the death of six women, who died when the van they were travelling in capsized, and went up in flames in the impact.
Expressing her 'deep sympathies' with the families of the victims, she said she had directed that they be paid Rs one lakh each from the Chief Minister's General Relief Fund.
In a statement, she also announced Rs 50,000 to eight persons who had sustained burn injuries.
