"Convergence of MGNREGA schemes with those of other departments is necessary to broaden the ambit of implementation of this flagship programme, " minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar told departmental officials while informing that Rs 835 crore has been spent against the available fund of Rs 900 crore.
"The flagship programme should also be dovetailed with schemes of other departments like forest, agriculture and horticulture, so that varied activities can be undertaken under it," he said.
Stressing on effective and speedy implementation of the schemes, Sagar urged officials to work in coordination with those of other departments to ensure a detailed convergence of the schemes.
