Rajasthan government has spent Rs 892 crore under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyhan (RMSA) in the state in last three years, the Vidhan Sabha was told today.
Minister of state for school education, Vasudev Devnani, said this while replying to supplementary questions in the state assembly.
He said enrollment in the state schools has increased with the efforts of the BJP government.
School works worth Rs 38 crore have been completed by the government in last three years in Barmer district as against Rs 7 crore spent by the previous Congress regime, he claimed.
Earlier, the Opposition cornered Devnani over "lack of classrooms" in middle and upper middle government schools in various parts of state.
The minister said that proposals of schools where classrooms are insufficient have been sent to the Union government for approval.
Under RMSA scheme the government had sanctioned Rs 614 lakh for 10 schools in the last financial year in Siwana constituency and works in seven schools were completed, Devani said while replying to a question from Siwana MLA Hameer Singh Bhayal.
Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) is a centrally sponsored scheme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development for the development of secondary education in the country.
