Mizoram would incur an additional expenditure of Rs 563.22 crore annually if it implements the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission, state government officials said today.
Officials of the state finance department informed that the calculation was made after the Federation of Mizoram Government Employees and Workers (FMGE and W), an umbrella organisation of all the state government employees association, asked the department to undertake the estimate.
However, the proposal had already been denied by state chief minister Lal Thanhawla.
The state government would not implement the seventh pay commission recommendations due to fiscal crunch, the CM had earlier said.
Lal Thanhawla said that the financial burden would be too heavy unless the Centre comes forward to help the state government.
