Rudy, UP minister discuss speeding up skill development

Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy today discussed the issue of fast-tracking skill development initiatives for the youth of Uttar Pradesh with state Industrial Development Minister Satish Mahana.
The state has identified three industrial clusters in Noida, Agra and Kanpur that will help speed up pace of industrialisation in Uttar Pradesh.
According to Mahana, it is crucial to have a ready workforce that is well-equipped with the latest skills and technology know-how to achieve the goals set by the newly formed state government.
"We have courses under Skill India which are aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework special to industrial sector requirement and we would be more than happy to extend our support in building the new Uttar Pradesh as envisioned by our Prime Minister," said Rudy, who holds the charge of skill development and entrepreneurship.

"This initiative will address the issue of migration of the youth from UP for better job prospects and at the same time boost industrial development in the state."
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been working with the private sector in UP to promote skill development in the state through its implementation arm, the National Skill Development Corporation.
Under the short-term skill development courses, more than 3.65 lakh students have been skilled so far in the state, of which more than half have been placed till now.
The state will also have access to a central portal which will have aggregation of all data and workforce to align itself with the skill ecosystem.
