S Ayyappan gets three-month extension as DG ICAR

Renowned fisheries expert S Ayyappan was today given three-month extension, till March next year, as Secretary, Department of Agriculture Research and Education-cum-Director General, Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR).
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved his tenure for three months beyond December 31, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said.
Ayyappan took over the charge of Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and DG, ICAR from Mangala Rai, who had retired from service on December 31, 2009.
