Badal said the results of this by-poll would once again repose "unflinching trust and faith" of people of the state in the "result-oriented" policies of the SAD-BJP alliance.
Speaking on the sidelines of Sant Baba Hira Dass Memorial Kabaddi cup here, the chief minister said that during campaign for the by-poll, he had witnessed an "upbeat mood amongst voters in favour of SAD-BJP alliance in Dhuri."
He said that the voters of Dhuri were "eager to elect the SAD-BJP alliance candidate" to give boost to its overall development.
Earlier in his address, while highlighting the relevance and significance of sports, the chief minister said that it not only inculcates a sense of sportsmanship among youth but also helps them maintain a healthy physique.
The chief minister also said that due to persistent efforts of the state the mother game of Punjab- Kabaddi has transformed from a rural sport to a global event.
Badal said that due to efforts of the state government, the game has already became famous even in those countries which had not heard about it.
Badal said that eminent sportspersons, who have brought laurels to the state were being given government jobs and many players who have won medals in international sports have been appointed DSPs.
He said the government was working on an aggressive campaign to produce maximum trained sportspersons and have more Punjabi players in the Indian contingent for Rio Olympics.
The chief minister said that successful organisations of five editions of World Cup Kabaddi has encouraged the organisation of World Kabaddi leagues at national and international level which increased its followers across the boundaries.
Coaching, psychologists, diet, training and equipments would be provided for free to young sportspersons, he said.
