The Konkani writers met in the Goa Chamber of Commerce to launch their protest, which they said would be joined by other authors and artists and continue till the upcoming international film festival here.
Konkani writer N Shivdas said, "We have unanimously decided to agitate. This has not happened before in any state. We plan to continue the agitation till the international film festival."
Writers Nagesh Karmali, Damodar Mauzo (who is also member of the Sahitya Akademi executive committee), Pundalik Naik, Datta Damodar Naik, Ramesh B Veluskar, Meena Kakodkar, Hema Naik, Dilip Borkar, Gokuldas Prabhu, Mahabaleshwar Sail, Prakash Damodar Padgaonkar, Tukaram Rama Shet and Arun Sakhardande participated in today's meet, which was also attended by Padma Shri-winning author Maria Aurora Couto.
