Under this new format, all the coaches will be assessed by the Sports Authority of India on various parameter.
"Coaches shall be assessed with regard to the initiatives taken by them to introduce and use sports sciences/sports medicine/preparation of nutrition charts with respect to the trainees," SAI said in a release.
"Their work will also be assessed with regard to formulation of short-term/long-term plans for the sportspersons and use of ethical motivational techniques. The functional competency of the coaches shall be assessed with regard to their initiatives, resourcefulness and dependability as also their ability in talent scouting.
In order to ensure the safety of the athletes, SAI said the coaches will be held accountable for following proper procedures.
"The coaches shall also be assessed with regard to their following proper safety procedures while imparting training."
To make sure that the APAR also helps SAI to design and execute programmes for growth of coaches, coaches will be asked about the areas in which they feel there is a need to upgrade their skills for their current assignment as well as their future career.
