Bhosale's plight was highlighted by the media recently and SAI Director General Injeti Srinivas subsequently offered help.
"SAI would be happy to sponsor him for a one-year coaching diploma at NIS Patiala or its Bangalore branch if he is interested. After he passes the course he can apply to become a SAI coach. We will be very happy to support him," said DG, SAI.
28-year-old Bhosale won a bronze medal in the 64kg category at the National Championship in Nagpur and has been hoping to get a decent job that will allow him to focus on his boxing career.
Srinivas clarified that SAI's offer was not out of sympathy and based on professional consideration and merit.
He also said while SAI is always on the look out for good coaches and feel Mrunal can be a good prospect, it is up to the boxer whether he is open to shift his focus to coaching or not.
