Pune's Rohan Sakalkar and Thane's Sagar Patne entered the second qualifying round in the BSAM Maharashtra State Senior Snooker Selection (leg 2) Championship on Tuesday.
Sakalkar dropped the first frame but recovered to tame Puneet Thakkar of Mumbai 3-1 (15-58, 63-22, 67-35 and 65-52) in the first qualifying round at the Bombay Gymkhana here.
Patne came from behind to overcome Sharad Sharma of Mumbai 3-2 (29-65, 64-38, 23-56, 43-10 and 57-16) to advance to the second qualifying round.
Results: Snooker qualifying (1st round) (all from Mumbai unless stated otherwise): Sanjay Gamre beat Hardik Vyas 3-1 (50-18, 49-58, 54-20, 60-56); Kishore Laungani beat Manan Shah 3-0 (55-10, 51-41, 56-25); Rohan Sakalkar (Pune) beat Puneet Thakkar 3-1 (15-58, 63-22, 67-35, 65-52); Sagar Patne (Thane) beat Sharad Sharma 3-2 (29-65, 64-38, 23-56, 43-10, 57-16); Vilas Upsham beat Mangesh Gurav 3-1 (33-60, 48-47, 60-24, 54-32); Joseph Menezes beat Luv Boricha 3-1 (36-51, 40-31, 60-35, 60-17).
(2nd round): Yogesh Kute beat Bapu Gaikwad 3-1 (43-51, 52-39, 45-5, 76-50); Siddhesh Mulay (Chiplun) beat Kaizad Fitter 3-1 (59-12, 31-58, 43-19, 52-44).
