A crime branch unit of Mathura police will visit Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science in Delhi, where the deceased worked as a lecturer and search his cabin, Police Superintendent, Mathura, Crime Branch Ashok Kumar Rai said.
Sankalp's room that has been sealed since October last year will be thoroughly searched for any vital information, he said, adding that suggestion to open the room came from the institute director Rina Mitra.
We had recently questioned Mitra in the case, police said, adding that few more questions need to be answered by the institute's director.
Though there have been reports of shifting the investigation of the case from Mathura police to other competent authorities, no official announcements have been made, Rai said.
An FIR was filed against IPS officer Kamlendra Prasad, former director of the institute, DG Kamlendra Prasad and IG Sandip Mittal including 37 others in the case.
