Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain today reviewed works and projects being executed by Urban Development Department in the national capital, soon after taking charge of the department.
Jain, who is known to be close to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is looking after seven departments while Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has the charge of about 11 departments in the AAP government.
"Jain today held a review meeting with the officials of Urban Development Department on the ongoing and future projects being carried out in the capital," a senior government official said.
Yesterday, Sisodia was relieved of Urban Development Department and its charge was given to Jain who holds key portfolios in the Delhi government.
The move is being seen as a step to minimise the workload of Sisodia who, according to sources, wants to focus more on education sector.
Besides, being the Deputy CM, Sisodia takes care of chief ministerial work in the absence of Kejriwal who in the coming time will be busy campaigning in Punjab, Goa, Gujarat where elections are scheduled next year.
The Deputy Chief Minister holds charge of education, finance, planning, land and building, revenue, vigilance, services, administrative reforms, information technology, law and justice.
Apart from the Urban Development Department, Jain holds charge of power, home, PWD, transport, health and industries.
