SBI, IIT Bombay join hands to promote fintech startups

Country's largest lender State Bank of India has tied-up with Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) at IIT Bombay to promote innovation by fintech startups.
They will identify fintech startups offering products or applications for the financial sector, a press release issued by the IIT Bombay said.
The bank will provide a platform for testing products or applications and will also check for any specific business linkages.
SINE is a technology business incubator of IIT Bombay.

Oberoi Hotels and Resorts voted world's best hotel brand * Hospitality chain Oberoi Hotels and Resorts has been voted as world's best hotel brand for the second consecutive year by readers' survey 2016, conducted by US based 'Travel + Leisure' magazine.
In the poll, readers rate their experiences and evaluate hotels across the world on the following parameters - rooms and facilities, location, service, restaurants, food and value, Oberoi Hotels and Resorts said in a statement.
Oberoi Hotels and Resorts has been named as the best hotel brand on account of their properties of exceptional quality in picture-perfect locations, but also due to service standard provided, Travel + Leisure Editor Nathan Lump said.

IndusInd Bank opens IFSC Banking unit in GIFT City * Private sector lender IndusInd Bank today said it has opened IFSC Banking Unit (IBU) at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
The unit will provide the bank access to international financial markets and allow it to deliver a complete range of products to its clients with foreign currency funding requirements, the bank said in a statement here today.
Boston Consulting Group launches energy policy centre
* The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) today launched a centre which will engage with companies and policymakers on the future of energy.
Headquartered in Washington DC, the BCG Center for Energy Impact (CEI) will help firms to shape thinking about the availability, economics, and sustainability of the world's energy sources and to consider the implications for energy companies and their portfolios, a company statement said.
"The disruptive changes in the energy industry are really only just beginning, and CEI will create a forum to provide challenging ideas to drive performance," said Alan Thompson, global leader of BCG's Energy practice.

Colliers appoints Ravi Ahuja as ED for investment sales * Property consultant Colliers International India today said it has appointed Ravi Ahuja as the Executive Director for Office Services and Investment Sales
With over 20 years of pan-India real estate experience in multi-disciplinary transactions and advisory for occupiers, developers, investors and the government, Ahuja will further strengthen the office services capability of the firm in India, the company said in a statement.
Ahuja rejoins Colliers after an initial stint of three years from 1996-1999. In his previous role at Cushman & Wakefield, he had held diverse leadership positions for over 17 year.
