School student kills self

A 17-year old school student in
the district today allegedly committed suicide after his classmates made fun of him as a girl of the same school spurned his love, police said.
Balasubramanian of Sathapadi village was studying in the private higher secondary school and was in love with a girl student. However, she rejected him, they said.
Over this, his classmates criticized and made fun of him.
Hurt by their act, the boy consumed some pesticide while traveling in the school bus and started vomiting, police added.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Attur and later shifted to Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Hospital here where he died without responding to treatment, police said.
