"My father has not done anything wrong by spending time with the people of Guna, Shivpuri and Ashoknagar instead of giving time to us, as you have given him a lot of affection.
"Because of which he always tells us whenever we ask him to spend time with us after coming from school in the vacations that he is going to be amidst his family," said Mahanaryaman (18), interacting with the people in his first campaign event here.
People were out in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the Scindia junior. "I would like to come here again and again to further cement my relationship with the people of the region," he said.
Jyotiraditya Scindia is contesting from Guna for a fourth consecutive term. The constituency had been earlier represented by his father Madhavrao Scindia and grandmother Vijyaraje Scindia.
His main rival in this election is BJP's Jaibhan Singh Pawaiyya.
