Congress leader and former Maharashtra minister Dr Anees Ahmed has demanded that Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan should do away with the Local Body Tax.
Ahmed has said the Congress-NCP government would face wrath of the traders' community in the Assembly elections otherwise.
The traders in the state are opposed to LBT which was introduced in lieu of the Octroi last year.
Ahmed said in a release here that results of Lok Sabha elections also reflected the traders' sentiments. He said he met AICC general Secretary Mohan Prakash in this regard recently and handed over a memorandum to him.
