The move is part of Sebi's efforts to recover Rs 1.27 crore dues from P S Saminathan.
He had been penalised by Sebi for multiple violations, including non-compliance with disclosure norms and for indulging in fraudulent trading activities in the capital market.
According to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) attachment order today, Uma Saminathan and Harakchand had undertaken to pay the dues in case P S Saminathan failed to do so.
Similarly, Sebi has directed depositories -- NSDL and CDSL -- to attach all demat accounts of the defaulter.
The watchdog has also asked for various details of the accounts held by them, including account statements.
In July, Sebi had said it would e-auction the property held by Uma Saminathan as part of its efforts to recover the dues from his husband. Before that, the markets regulator, in November 2014, had said that it would e-auction the property held by P S Saminathan.
On the opening of Sebi's new office in Raipur, the Chief Minister in a tweet said, "...This will open a new horizon of capital market for MSMEs" in Chhattisgarh.
He added that this initiative will make people aware about capital markets and safeguard interests of small investors.
He favoured the idea of "more effective curbs under Sebi's supervision" over illegal measures by chit fund companies.
The state government, Singh further said, will be introducing a strict law to curb illegalities by such companies as a Bill has been tabled in the Assembly.
