Police patrolling around vital installations including railway stations and ISBTs as well as places of tourist interest like the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar and Rishikesh have been stepped up following the terrorist attack in the Punjab town, Uttarakhand DGP B S Sidhu told reporters.
All police stations have been put on alert and officials asked to keep a vigil around entry and exit points which border on neighbouring states like Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, he said.
Officials have also been asked to keep a tab on dubious movements in public places, Sidhu said.
