Seeded players Shaikh, Bava have it easy in round one

Top seed Abdullah Shaikh of Andhra Pradesh eased past Saurav Sukul of West Bengal in straight sets to enter the singles second round of the Khar Gymkhana All India Men's Open Tennis Tournament here today.
Shaikh won 6-4 6-1 and was joined by third seed Haadin Bava of Mumbai, who prevailed over unseeded Kunal Vazirani 6-2 6-1, also from Maharashtra.
Shaikh also teamed up with Anvit Bendre to beat the Karnataka pair of Suraj Prabodh and Dev Prajwal 7-5 6-3 in the doubles first round.
The other singles winners were Faisal Qamar of Rajasthan, Vignesh Peranamallur of AP and Maharashtra duo Saurabh Patil and Shahbaz Khan, who all won in straight sets to advance to the second round.
