Select base metals surge on rising industrial demand

Select base metals surged further at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists buying amidst rising demand from industrial users.
Tin spurted by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,195 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,175 and zinc rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 164 as compared to Rs 161 yesterday.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper wire bar and lead inched up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 380, Rs 374, Rs 368, Rs 408 and Rs 126, respectively.
Nickel fell by Rs 5 per kg to 715 from Rs 720 and copper utensils edged down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 348 as against to Rs 351 yesterday.
Copper sheet cuttings, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 364, Rs 277 and Rs 282, respectively.
