Select freight rates dip on excess trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess position of trucks.
Transporters said easy availability of trucks against restricted cargo movements, mainly led to the fall in freight rates for some destinations.
Delhi to Coimbatore and Kolkata freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 66,000 and Rs 30,000.
Rates to Baroda and Kanpur also fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 22,000 and Rs 18,000.
