Select pulses maintain upward trend on good demand

Select pulses rose further by up to Rs 150 per quintal at the wholesale market today on the back of surging demand from retailers.
Traders said besides rising demand from retailers and dal mills, fall in supplies from producing regions mainly kept select pulses prices higher.
In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality remained in demand and advanced by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,800-6,900, Rs 6,900-7,300 and Rs 7,300-7,400 per quintal respectively. Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted higher at Rs 2,700 each instead of Rs 2,650 per 35 kg bag.
Urad also moved up to Rs 5,650-6,800 from previous level of Rs 5,500-6,750 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were up Rs 100 each to Rs 5,900-6,000, Rs 6,000-6,500 and Rs 6,400-6,600 per quintal respectively.

Arhar and its dal dara variety too recovered by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 4,150 and Rs 6,100-7,900 per quintal respectively on increased demand.
