Hisar in Haryana once again turned out to be the hottest place in the region as it recorded maximum at 46 deg C, up by five degrees above normal, the local MeT office said here.
Narnaul also sizzled at 45 deg C up, up by five notches above normal.
Ambala experienced a hot day at 43.4 deg C, five degree above normal while Bhiwani and Karnal sizzled at 45.2 deg C and 44 deg C, up by five and four notches, respectively.
In Punjab, sweltering heat swept Amritsar, which recorded a high of 45.6 deg C, up by seven notches.
Ludhiana and Patiala recorded identical maximums of 44.8 deg C each, both seven notches above normal level.
The MeT department in its forecast said that severe heat wave conditions may occur in some parts of Punjab and Haryana during the next four days.
