Students' Federation of India (SFI) will launch a nation-wide 'Delhi Chalo' movement next month to press for "pro-student" education policy and increase in budget for the education sector.
"Thousands of our members from all over the country will participate in the 'Delhi Chalo' movement and will protest near Parliament on March 3," SFI national general secretary Vikram Singh said.
Alleging that the present government did nothing to improve the education sector, he said, "A pro-student education policy is immensely needed and we will demand for that during the protest."
Similar campaign will also be launched in Chandigarh on March 21 in which the SFI will push for inclusion of articles on Bhagat Singh in school and college curriculum and setting up of a study centre on the revolutionary leader's name.
