SGPC member held guilty of violating Akal Takht directive

Akal Takht held an Shriomani Gurdwara Pharbandhk Committee member guilty of violating its directive and instructed him to undergo a 18-day religious punishment.
SGPC member from Doda Navtej Singh Kauni was found guilty of attending a Dera Sacha Sauda congregation at Bhullar village in Muktsar on May 16 during campaigning for the Akali Dal candidates for the zila parishad and block samiti polls.
Akal Takht is its directive issued earlier had asked the entire Sikh community to keep distance Dera Sacha Sauda in shape of complete boycott.
Akal Takht jathedar Gyani Gurbachan Singh directed Kauni yesterday to do recitation of Japji Sahib (Sikh religious scripture), Sewa (religious service) at Gurdwara in Muktsar, besides listening to 'Gurbani; for one hour for 18 days.
Kauni was also been instructed to perform prayer and apologizing for his wrong doing.
