BJP president Amit Shah today met former Lokayukta of Madhya Pradesh Justice PP Naolekar and former Supreme Court judge Justice DM Dharmadhikari here as part of his party's "contact for support" campaign ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

During the meeting, Shah spoke about the achievements and initiatives of the Modi government in the last four years.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP state unit chief Rakesh Singh and some other party leaders accompanied Shah during this meeting.

As part of the campaign, Shah has been meeting personalities from diverse fields.

The Assembly election in Madhya Pradesh is also scheduled in November this year.

Earlier in the day, Shah performed puja on the banks of river Narmada.

He also held a meeting with the party leaders in the hotel at Bhedaghat which lasted about three hours.

He also addressed the party's social media volunteers.

The police arrested about 30 women workers of the Congress when they tried to show black flags while Shah was on his way to the venue of the BJP's Election Management Committee meeting in a hotel in Bhedaghat, DIG, Jabalpur, Bhagwant Singh Chouhan, said.

He added that a woman, identified as Jyoti Singh, was also detained when she breached Shah's security ring in a bid to meet the BJP president.
