After his team's victory over the Kings XI Punjab, Khan, the brand ambassador of Bengal, drove straight to the residence of Banerjee in the dingy Harish Chatterjee street where a large number of his fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the star.
Banerjee came out from his residence to welcome Khan, who in turn touched her feet in a show of respect for the leader.
Khan was at Banerjee's residence for about 25 minutes.
KKR stormed into the final of the IPL with a 28-run win over Kings XI Punjab.
Khan later told reporters: "I am grateful to Kolkata for its support and we will party after we win the IPL this year. The team has been playing fantastically.
