No one was injured in the incident which occurred around 8.05 AM affecting Singrauli-Jabalpur rail route for nearly two hours, a railway official said.
Railway employees worked on a war-footing to restore the track in two hours, following which the train left for its destination, Singrauli Railway Station's Manager, Bankelal said.
He confirmed that no loss of life or damage to property occurred due to the mishap.
