C Lalthanmawia, SP, Fire and Emergency Services said, "Though there was no human casualty in the fire last night, properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed. Actual loss of property was yet to be determined."
The cause of fire was being investigated and the police suspected that the fire originated from the utensils shop.
Fire and Emergency Service officials, assisted by local volunteers managed to douse the fire.
