The owner of the hardware and building material shop, Sunil Kumar, was at the shop along with his elder brother and father when two persons on a bike stopped at the entrance of the shop.
"They were wearing helmets. One of them got down and fired two shots aiming at us as we sat there and fled from the spot on their bike. We were lucky not to been hit," Kumar said.
"A case has been registered. We are checking the footage. Registration number of their vehicle is being traced and they will soon be arrested," a senior police officer said.
Kumar in his complaint said that two persons with their faces covered had intercepted him while he was on his way to the shop some 15 days ago. They had asked him to pay Rs 20 lakh rupees and threatened him with dire consequences if he approached police. However, no case in this regard was registered at that time.
