Shubhankar, who has already finished tied sixth in two of four previous starts, shot even par 72 in the first round and followed that up with three-under 69 in the second. He is lying tied 14th.
Shubhankar, the youngest player to win on his domestic Tour in India, finished tied sixth at the PGM Northport Glenmarie Championship in Malaysia and the ICTSI Riviera Classic in the Philippines.
In between he missed the cut at PGM Johor Championships and ICTSI Orchard Championships in the Philippines. The current tournament is his fifth in a row.
Shaaban returned with the day's lowest score of 63 for second while Khor Kheng Hwai, also of Malaysia, settled for third on 135 total at the Templer Park Country Club.
This season, the ADT with at least 20 events on the schedule, will earn the top five players on the final Order of Merit with playing rights for the 2015 Asian Tour season.
