A Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) spokesman said SIA flight SQ425 which left Mumbai at 8.44 am this morning and was expected to arrive in Singapore at 4.44 pm, made the emergency landing at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 4.05 pm.
"The plane landed safely and all its passengers and crew were also reported to be safe, with no injury sustained," he was quoted as saying by state-run Bernama news agency.
However, the report did not specify the number of passengers or the type of aircraft.
