Sikkim shivers as snow fall continues

Chilly weather conditions prevailed today in most parts of Sikkim with snow fall continuing in higher altitude areas, met department officials said.
Areas such as Nathula and Changu in East district, and Lachen and Lachung in North district received snowfall for the third consecutive day as a result icy winds were blowing across Sikkim.
Gyalshing in West district remained the coldest place with minimum temperature of 4.7 degrees Celsius, followed by 4.8 in Gangtok (East district), 5.6 in Namchi (South district) and 8.6 in Mangan (North district), the officials said.
Snowfall is likely to continue in in the higher altitude for two more days, they added.
