Siliguri CP, Birbhum SP transferred in a major reshuffle

In a major reshuffle in IPS cadre, Commissioner of Police of Siliguri, three DIGs and Superintendents of Police in four districts have either been transferred or promoted in West Bengal.
Commissioner of Police in Siliguri Police Commissionerate Jag Mohan has been transferred to Kolkata Police as Additional Commissioner of Police III, officials said today.
Manoj Kumar Verma, DIG Armed Police in Barrackpore has been transferred on promotion as Commissioner of Police in Siliguri Police Commissionerate replacing Jag Mohan.
With this, Additional CP III in city police Jayanta Kumar Basu has been asked to take over as Additional CP II.
The DIG Training, Tripurari, would take over as DIG Armed Police in Barrackpore, while the DIG Railways Rabindra Nath has been asked to take over as DIG Training.
Superintendents of Police in four districts Birbhum, Purulia, Bankura and Alipurduar have also been transferred to different places of posting, the sources said.
The SP Birbhum, Alok Rajoria, who came up in the controversy following political developments in the district, has been transferred as Commandant of 9th Battalion replacing Rupesh Kumar, who has been asked to take over as SP in Purulia district.
With this, the SP in Bankura district, Mukesh, has been asked to take over as the SP in Birbhum district, while the SP Purulia, Sudheer Kumar Neelkanta, would take over as SP in Bankura district.
Anoop Jaiswal, SP in Alipurduar district, would now take over as Commandant, Border Wing Home Guard, while the AIG Security Akash Magharia has been asked to take over as the SP in Alipurduar district, the sources said.
