Singer Ankit Tiwari today moved the Bombay High Court seeking to quash a case of rape against him.
The division bench of Justices Ranjit More and Anuja Prabhudessai will hear the petition on January 14.
Tiwari, who sang the popular number 'Sun Raha Hai Na' in the Hindi film 'Aashiqui 2', was arrested in May last year by Versova police here after a woman filed a complaint of rape against him.
Tiwari has filed the petition through advocate Ashok Saraogi, which argues that he is being framed in a false case.
According to the complainant, he allegedly raped her many times between October 2012 and December 2013 after promising to marry her. He later broke his promise, she says.
Police had also arrested Ankur Tiwari, Ankit's elder brother, for allegedly threatening the victim. Both the brothers are now out on bail.
