An online application to review performance of all police stations and officials on a monthly basis in Rajasthan was today reviewed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who directed it to be replicated by all states and Union Territories.
Director, State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Rajasthan, Kapil Garg, made a detailed presentation in the presence of Union Home Secretary L C Goyal, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi, DG (BPR and D) N R Wasan, Secretary (IS) Ashok Prasad and other senior officers of the Ministry.
"The presentation was in pursuance of the concept of SMART policing. PMS is an online application to evaluate the performance of all police stations, circle officers and district SPs across the State of Rajasthan on monthly basis," a Home Ministry statement said.
"The SCRB has developed web-based Performance Measurement System for police stations for effective monitoring by senior officers as per the proposed performance measurement criteria," it said.
The Minister was informed that scoring matrix has been created with positive and negative marks for performance in fourteen parameters.
"Rajnath Singh appreciated this innovative initiative of the Rajasthan Police and directed that this may be circulated among all the States/UTs for replication. He directed that parameters of Individual Performance Auditing and Public Perception should also be incorporated.
"He further stated that other such good practices in effective policing in different states may be examined and adopted," it said.
