A special police team, formed following a complaint that Rs 27 lakh kept in a table drawer in a room was stolen by some who entered the premises through the ventilator on December 14, arrested five persons, residents of Kalayarkoil in Sivaganga District, they said.
Further interrogation revealed that the gang was involved in chain snatching in two police station limits and on informaton given by them, another person was also arrested and recovered the gold chains also, police added.
