"There is an increase between 21 per cent to nearly 40 per cent in the number of admissions for treatment, deliveries, operations, family planning ligation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology department in SMGS hospital in the last 6 months of 2013", Head of Department (HOD) of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at SMGS, Dr Indu Koul said here today.
"As compared to 10,768 total admission for treatments in the first six months period of 2013, there has been 24 per cent increase in total admissions of 13,325 in next six months from July to December 2013", she said.
"As compared to 4,341 operations in the first 6 months of SMGS hospital, there has been an increase of 22 per cent to 5,284 operations in the next 6 months period," she said.
SMGS hospital was inaugurated by Maharaja Hari Singh on 6th May, 1940 to provide proper and better health care to the people of Jammu.
